if you compare other versions of the bible there is a clear difference in meaning.
shoddy workmanship or what?
today, i was on the scene of the local congregation of jw's where my ex-wife and her husband attend.
physical, emotional and mental abuse has been purpetrated upon my kids for eight years now.
they have been victims of alcoholism, verbal bashings and they have been made to watch their stepfather beat the hell out of their mother and then be halled off to jail without saying a word to anyone for fear fo reprisal from him and their mother.
You are messing with my children and YOU DON?T MESS WITH MY CHILDREN! How?s that for a prophecy? Unlike WT prophecy, mine will come true .
Hehe - too true.
Well done that man - it's just so sad that it had to come to this.
Oh yes - I watched the Seventh Seal last night which prompted me to read through this thread.
I think God must be a great artist (after viewing Simple Sallys avatar ).
I'm close to JT's definition myself. The only time I have felt close to the creative energy that drives this universe is away from man-made constructs, that includes organized religion which gets in the way and it has to be said in my own case, away from Christ as a concept, as that drags me back mentally towards the dreaded WTBTS experience.
The highest state according to the teachings within Kabbalah is no-thing. To certain eastern mystics everything divides in upon itself and eventually you meet the great universal spirit, again, a state of no-thingness.
I have always viewed creation as being suspended within God's mind. I close my mind and visualize a dark expanse, then I summon forth a white sphere in the centre of the expanse. To me, at that moment I become God and the sphere becomes creation.
Nutter that I am

Isaiah 45:7
Yep - I was thinking about that scripture earlier as well. I think the NWT has a hole in it
.
to all christians, or others, is there any proof of the promised messiah being jesus of nazareth and if so, how can you be sure if he existed?
.
Who knows? I sure dont. I give up on all this stuff, its way too much. I dont have a relationship with God / Christ like other Christians claim to have, they say its because I lack faith, or because I dont really want one (like they would know that ) Or maybe I just am not wanted by God / Christ?
I know that feeling well

The rulers of the earth?should have acknowledged the King immediately and rendered him full obedience. In 1874, 1878 or 1914?- hehe - how can you acknowledge someone immediately who is said to be invisible? I know their explanation, but it's hardly fair is it ... what about the doubting Thomas's amongst us?
Surely Jesus can make it a bit clearer than that.

The proof of the pudding is in the tasting - or so my mother used to tell me
How can I prove that you exist?

NWT:
Lamentations 3:38 - From the mouth of the Most High bad things and what is good do not go forth.
NIV:
Lamentations 3:38 - Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come?
